A combination that may not be entirely self-evident. We would therefore like to explain, by means of a number of examples, how the WMS of WICS contributes to a more sustainable business operation.
The most obvious is the paper consumption that goes down. Think of the paper inventory lists, packing slips, announcements, receipt confirmations. All of this can be automated digitally with WICS. If you switch to working with Scan/Voice/Pick-to-light, the paper consumption goes down even further.
In addition, WICS provides insight into the stock in the entire chain, which allows for much more targeted purchasing. We prevent the carrier from transporting unnecessary stock and reduce CO2 emissions.
The WMS of WICS ensures that the empty running of the forklifts is drastically reduced with a smart pick-up-delivery optimization. You have to drive less often and in this way we ensure that you use less energy. “Never walk empty-handed!” A good example; the service in a restaurant very often walks with an empty tray. When your order is brought, the tray is full, after which it is returned empty. On the way, a few empty glasses or plates could easily have been taken back from another table. However, someone else will do that; there with an empty tray and back with a full tray. This could all have been done by the same person with a tray that was not continuously empty.
In short, the use of the WICS WMS has consciously and unconsciously ensured that our customers work more sustainably for more than 30 years.
